Please help us get Xmas Kai Boxes (food parcels) to struggling families this Christmas. We need $$$ support to feed vulnerable kiwi kids.
Northland, Far North District
Please help us put smiles on faces!
Christmas spirit does not happen for many vulnerable and impoverished Kiwi kids & their whānau. Families in our communities often struggle with basics around Christmas, let alone being able to afford Christmas gifts.
After hard years of Covid, and now inflation hurting all of us, we are worried about our ability to support as many families this year. It's a double whammy; more families worse off, and potential donors now struggling too!
Our generous community often donates over 1600 gifts every year in the spirit of manaakitanga and whanaungatanga ... but we need help with funding the 400 Kai Boxes (food parcels) please.
We want to give out as many Kai Boxes as possible this Christmas, but to do that we do need financial help. We estimate each box may cost $180 each this year. We include fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, grocery staples, cleaning and hygiene products plus a Christmas cake and small treat. Specific items are chosen for practicality in terms of
- creating family meals
- storage & use (eg: families without storage, freezers, electricity etc)
- health & wellbeing
- value
Families across the Mid/Far North of New Zealand will be so thankful for your support, and we GUARANTEE smiles on faces.
PARTNER FEEDBACK 2021
“I’ve had grown men cry when I turn up. Single dads who are too proud to ask for help.”
[Social worker Bay Of Islands]
“The look on the kids faces is priceless, and the whanau are overcome with emotion”.
[Kaitaia social services]
'Bald Angels Charitable Trust' believes all children deserve to thrive & we focus on the most vulnerable. We engage the community in whanaungatanga values: providing emergency essentials, trauma Angel Bears, youth mentoring & whānau support.
These funds will be used to pay for the Angel Xmas Kai Boxes (food parcels) for vulnerable and at-risk Mid-Far North families.
Why it matters 17 November 2022
Kia Ora, Thanks once again for your donations. I thought I'd share a little video from one of our iwi partners, Ngati Hine Health Trust who come along and help us pack Kai Boxes at Christmas. Last year they were on the Meat section- so you can see them surrounded by sausages, mince and hams being packed to go to 400 whānau all across the Far North. These wonderful people work at the coal face with the families that are most vulnerable. They provide wrap around care, advocacy and support. Your donation may make a bigger difference than you think.
