Help us wrap our arms around the 9 west Auckland siblings who lost both their parents at Muriwai Beach on Monday.
Nationwide
Former refugees from Burma, Kay Dah Ukay and his wife Mu Thu Pa were fishing on the rocks at Muriwai Beach on Monday when tragedy struck.
Both parents were swept into the water, in front of their 3 youngest children, and lost their lives. They leave behind 9 children and one grandchild.
Four of the kids are under 18 (the youngest is 9 years old) and they will now be raised by their older siblings. This is going to put tremendous financial pressure on the family, right at a point when they are at their most emotionally vulnerable.
All funds raised through this page will be given directly to the siblings, helping them to cover the costs associated with moving into a new home (none of the older siblings live in a house big enough to accommodate 4 new additions), paying off funeral expenses, covering increased power and water bills, and any time off work that the older siblings might need to take in order to manage the transition.
Every amount helps - please show your support and help us, as a community, wrap our arms around these west Auckland siblings.
