Help us build a school classroom in Vanuatu by sponsoring a concrete block. 2,000 blocks at $3 each available.

Two teams of New Zealander volunteers are heading to Port Vila with Volunteer Build during July 2023 to build a school classroom for the V2 Life School. The first team is a school group of 19 from Hutt International Boys School, and the second team is a group of 18 everyday New Zealanders keen to help our Pacific neighbours out after 2 cyclones caused havoc earlier this year.

The school provides education to local Vanuatu children and has grown from 40 students to 110 students over the past 2.5 years, and they are desperate for additional classroom space (currently they are using dorm rooms as classrooms), especially after the 2023 cyclones caused some damage to the school.

We will building a 96 square metre concrete block classroom over 10 days in July 2023 which will be large enough to split into 2 separate classrooms for local children.

We've raised $37,000 so far for building materials, and we need to raise a further $6,000 to cover the cost of building materials. In order to raise the last of the funds needed, we are looking for kind donors to "sponsor" a concrete block.

We use 2,000 concrete blocks to build the classroom and the cost of the block, mortar and block fill needed for each block is approximately NZ$3. Donors can sponsor 1 block, 10 blocks, 100 blocks - or however many blocks you want, to help us meet our fundraising goal.
