Kids can have a lot of stuff going on - bullying, problems with friendships, parents separating and blended families, grief and loss. It's not always easy to talk about it and children can sometimes view adults as out of touch or unapproachable.
Kidsline is New Zealand's telephone children's helpline and is uniquely about kids being there for other kids – we are the only national child helpline in the world where counsellors are secondary school students.
Kidsline is available 24/7 however when kids ring between 4pm-9pm Monday - Friday they will speak to a Kidsline Buddy – a specially trained teenage telephone counsellor.
To continue to provide this vital service we rely on public donations as we receive no Government funding so please support us today.
About us
Lifeline Aotearoa is a nationwide charity which provides free and confidential support to people in crisis.
Our services include 0800 LIFELINE (543 354), text support - HELP (4357), Suicide Crisis Helpline (0508 TAUTOKO), Specialist Counselling, Suicide PreventionTraining and 0800 Kidsline - a dedicated helpline for children and young people (0800 54 37 54).
