DC 4375, was withdrawn from active use in 2015 when Auckland Transport began to acquire electric multiple units. Steam Incorporated purchased the locomotive in April 2021, and over the last 3 years has sat in storage with many small remedial repairs carried out.

With an ongoing need for another diesel electric in our stable, we have recently made the decision to focus our resources over the next few months on returning DC 4375 to the NZ rail network, and use on our heritage passenger trains.

Any donations will go towards costs associated with the heavy service work, inspections, rust repairs, parts, materials and engineering, paint as well as the administrative & compliance side of ensuring DC 4375 is fit for use on the National Rail System!
