Help us reduce maternal and child health mortality in South Sudan by training Martin & Willie as nurses.
Nationwide
Hi Guys! For those of you who don't know us, we are Jono & Destinee Macleod, doctors who have been helping run a Maternal Child Health Hospital in South Sudan since 2014.
Over the past 5 years our patient numbers have more than quadruped, with our team caring for just over 52,000 Mothers and Children in South Sudan during 2018. As our program continues expanding, one of our biggest needs is for well trained & competent local nurses to help oversee patient care in our new inpatient ward.
These two friends of our in the photo are Martin Maruop (right) and Willie Wol (left). Martin has been faithfully working for 5 years as a clinic assistant at the Maternal Child Health Hospital we help run in South Sudan, and Willie has been with us for 2.5 years. They have both proven themselves reliable, committed, compassionate, intelligent, and passionate about helping the mothers and children of Tonj, so we have selected them to start nursing training this year at Juba Health Science Institute.
Kiwis for South Sudan have generously agreed to fund their scholarships. The cost is $2300USD each per year, for 3 years, giving total cost of their training as $13,800USD.
Kiwis for South Sudan (KFSS) is a New Zealand charity that seeks to improve the lives of South Sudanese people by funding health programmes supported by Kiwi doctors Jono & Destinee Macleod through In Deed And Truth Ministries(IDAT).
The funds raised will be used by KFSS to provide the university fees, textbooks, essential medical equipment and a living allowance for Martin & Willie for the 3 year duration of their nursing training.
