Every $4 donated buys a mosquito net for a child or pregnant mother to help prevent Malaria, the leading cause of death in South Sudan
Auckland
Hi, it’s Jono & Destinee here,
We are NZ doctors helping run a Maternal Child Health program in rural South Sudan... And we really hate malaria.
Malaria is the leading cause of death in South Sudan. It accounts for 1/3 of all hospital admissions, and almost every day in our clinic we have children coming in convulsing from Cerebral Malaria. So far this year we've had 4 precious children die in Tonj from severe Malaria
One of our frustrations has been running out of Mosquito Nets this malaria season, as sleeping under a net is the most effective way of preventing malaria.
So Kiwis for South Sudan have kindly offered to raise funds to provide Malaria Nets for children and pregnant mothers attending our clinic. A generous friend is matching dollar for dollar each donation made on givealittle, so every $4 you donate buys a mosquito net to help save lives in South Sudan
Kiwis for South Sudan (KFSS) is a New Zealand based charity that seeks to improve the health of South Sudanese people by funding health related activities. The charity is run entirely by volunteers meaning every dollar donated goes toward projects in South Sudan. The board of directors in NZ between them have decades of experience in development work, management, marketing and medical work. KFSS primarlly fund projects run by their on the ground partners Jono & Destinee Macleod, who are medical doctors from New Zealand.
