Suicide prevention boxing fundraiser for The Key to Life Charitable Trust, held in Wellington.

Wellington

Welcome to IT Heavy Hitters 2018, a suicide prevention boxing fundraiser for The Key to Life Charitable Trust.

The IT Heavy Hitters events of the last 4 years have raised over $209,000 for The Key to Life Charitable Trust and we are currently working with the team to pull this together again. The Key to Life Charitable Trust is a registered charitable trust aiming to affect positive social change surrounding suicide prevention, suicide awareness and mental health in New Zealand. It's a great cause and we look forward to making a difference to those affected by these issues.

We'll take a group of IT professionals in Wellington, provide qualified training and instruction and glove them up. The result is an evening of explosive boxing action. You don't need any experience to fight at IT Heavy Hitters, you'll be trained by professional coaches in Wellington and helped with all aspects of theory and practical boxing. On the night you'll choose your walkout song, step into the arena and put all of your training into 3x2 minute rounds, scored and refereed by qualified officials.

I run the show and have used this page for the last few years to get donations that help cover venue hire, ring, sound, lights and will be used for the running costs of the event.

Wellington event: May 5th 2018 and the fight night main event will be the Doug McLay Memorial Fight, Doug was an inspiration to many boxers and is sorely missed throughout the sporting communities he was involved in following his 2013 suicide.

Find and like us on Facebook or Twitter for the latest news on the next big night, or if you have any questions about the event feel free to drop us an email - info@itheavyhitters.co.nz
