EkeRua wants bike helmets for Christmas

This Christmas EkeRua ReBicycle is asking Santa for 100 helmets to see us through this busy time of year into 2026. Please help with a donation of $25, $50 or more so we can give a free helmet with every bike that we give out over Summer.

About us

EkeRua ReBicycle is a community charity that is all about getting more people on bikes.

Every month, we receive dozens of bikes donated by generous Wellingtonians. Our volunteer mechanics fix them up and we carefully match them to people who need a bike.

Thanks for all the helmets! 21 January 2026

We received very nearly half of our fundraising goal of 100 helmets for Christmas. Thank you very much for supporting us despite tough times! We've had several donations of brand new helmets recently and also managed to bulk buy end-of-line cheap helmets for $7 each with the money you donated. So despite not reaching the financial target we're close on track to 100 helmets, thanks to you!

On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
