Someone decided to claim the solar panels of the roof of our workshop in the last few days.

We need to buy new panels and have them installed.

Can you help us replace them?

Please give what you can to get our lights going through the dark wither evenings.

About us

EkeRua ReBicycle is a community charity that is all about getting more people on bikes.

Every month, we receive dozens of bikes donated by generous Wellingtonians. Our volunteer mechanics fix them up and we carefully match them to people who need a bike.

Use of funds

We'll use funds raised to buy new solar panels and have them fitted.

New Solar Panels are on the way! 8 May 2025

We now have the ability to replace our panels because of all of your wonderful generosity and an awesome electrician offering his skills for free. Any excess funds will be put towards security and preventing future theft. Massive thanks from the EkeRua Crew!

This work is so important, very kind, and is perhaps the most valid form of genuine community grass roots climate activism anyone could imagine. It's both ironic and painful that solar panels have been stolen as they are the single other bit of tech kit to represent the modern climate-friendly tech era after the bicycle itself. It's appalling this has happened. Kia kaha i roto i ou mahi tino ataahua.
