Please help these triplet kids from Kawhia repeat their gold medal winning performance again at the World Championships.
Waikato
We are seeking funds to get 13-year-old triplets, Tainui, Tokomaru, and Aotea Taylor, and 9 years old Te Rangi Puke, who have been selected for the NZ Junior Black Gloves Team to compete at the IFMA World Junior Muaythai Championships in Bangkok, Thailand...
Up to 100 countries are expected to be competing at this major sporting event over 8 days for either the Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals...
Last year the Taylor triplets won 2 Bronze medals and a Gold medal...And in an extra special fight, one of the triplets won another Gold medal in her match against the Thailand contender...An astonishing achievement for NZ, let alone kids from a small, isolated coastal village like Kawhia...
Since then Tokomaru has also won the WMC NZ LIGHT BANTAMWEIGHT Muaythai title belt on Feb 25th, 2017....
This year the same kids plus one other, 9-year-old "Te Rangi Puke" also from Kawhia, are representing NZ at the World Junior Champs, and to provide every opportunity for them to compete successfully against some of the best junior fighters in the world, we are very keen to get these sports talented kids over to Thailand a few weeks before the World Championship event in early August, to acclimatize to the hot weather, and for specialized training in a Muaythai camp...
Last year no one really believed that our kids had the skills and toughness to excel in such a mentally and physically demanding sport...They pulled it off against enormous odds, and they can do it again, and even better...
Please believe in us, and support us...We thank you kindly in advance, and appreciate your valuable support in helping our kids achieve their dreams and goals, which they have worked very, very hard to achieve....
Even a dollar counts, and please check out our Facebook page for updates on our journey:
I'm involved because I'm the triplets dad, and part of their training team...I will be travelling to Thailand with them as their coach, masseur, nutritionist, chief dish washer, and minder.
The purpose of our trust is to educate and train kids and rangatahi (youth), and in particular, ‘at risk’ rangatahi, in job skills, work ethics, self-esteem and self-confidence, by using the natural environment and culture, to develop respect, appreciation and pride for their hapori (community) and our natural environment, while using outdoor activities as metaphors to explore and improve attitudes, and live out their God-given potential through the challenge of adventure.
Funds will be used to fly 4 kids and their coach/dad across to Thailand on Thai Airways...
Funds will also be used for hotel accommodation, food expenses, sports clothing/equipment, specialized training/gym fees, travel expenses, internet/phone, competition fees, etc for a duration of 3 months...
