Help us make the Port Hills Predator Free!
Christchurch, Canterbury
Predator Free Port Hills is a backyard and community trapping programme supporting households and communities across the Port Hills and Whakaraupō/Lyttelton Harbour. Our vision is to protect our native species and to see their populations flourish in our lifetimes.
An initiative of the Summit Road Society, Predator Free Port Hills provides traps to local residents at subsidised prices as well as ongoing education, support and community outreach. We are targeting rats, mustelids, possums and hedgehogs. These species predate our native birds, lizards and invertebrates.
Join the predator free movement and bring our native species back to the hills.
The Summit Road Society (Inc.), formed in 1948, aims to further the vision of Harry Ell, by working to enhance, preserve and protect the nature, beauty and open character of the Port Hills for people to enjoy.
Donations given through this Givealittle page will be used to purchase traps and resources, to provide advice and support to trappers and to support our education programme with local school children.
