ARAN Animal Rescue NZ - working to bring attention to the plight of dogs in Council Pounds in New Zealand, and save as many as we can.

  Unspecified Animal Welfare

Saving dogs that without ARAN have little or no hope of adoption and face euthanasia. Most ARAN dogs go into foster homes which means we can more fully assess them and match them to prospective owners. We have a dedicated team of six volunteers and all our donations go directly towards helping Pound dogs.

ARAN is one of a few dog rescue groups in New Zealand who specialise almost exclusively in rescuing deathrow pound dogs. In under 5 years we have saved around 1000 pound dogs, and via a network of foster homes and other agencies, seen those dogs desexed, vet treated, and into approved permanent homes.

More about us

We rescue rehomeable dogs, primarily from council pounds, who would otherwise face euthanasia. We are volunteers and all donations go directly towards helping these dogs.
