Life Chained Rottweiler Corey has Cancer

Corey was chained for nearly 10 years, starved, beaten & neglected before escaping. Now he has cancer and he needs your help!

Nationwide

Sadly our life chained rescue Rottweiler Corey has Cancer :(

Corey was chained for nearly 10 years, starved, beaten & neglected before breaking off the chain and escaping. When he came to us at Rottie Rescue there was no life in his eyes at all. He was very sick with an enlarged prostate and severe gut issues from eating anything he could.

Once mended he landed on all 4 paws in a loving permanent foster home. Corey has been doing so well although he is on medication and special food which is an ongoing financial strain for the rescue. But this sweet loving boy is so worth every penny.

He is now 12 years old and recently had issues with what we thought was a bad tooth as there was blood in his mouth. Now Corey hates anyone going near his mouth so he locks down and won't let you look! So off to the vets for sedation in which they found a large tumour in his gum.

They have removed it (hoping they got it all) and have sent it off for analysis. It was a very vascular tumour so a high chance it will come back or that it has spread.

We need your help please to assist with his medical bills and special food.

Please help our special, sweet boy.

The Results  5 February 2020

I am heartbroken to announce that Corey’s results have come back and our gorgeous boy’s tumour is definitely a malignant melanoma.

There is a high chance it will come back although they are confident by the markers that they got it all. If it spreads to his lymph, which it could have already done, we will need to assess further.

Right now he is perky and bright so we will make whatever time he has left AMAZING.

I can’t thank you all enough for your donations (both to Givealittle and direct to our account) and kinds words of love, support and encouragement. I also promised when I started this rescue that each and every dog would be treated like one of our own or I won’t do it at all. Corey is no exception and from the horrid start this boy had we will make sure that whatever time he has left, like the last few years he has been with us, that he has only the very best.

Thanks again,

Tracey & team xx
