We need to save our rescue Rottweilers who need URGENT boarding for up to 4 months.
Auckland
This is a very sad story and we need to help this guy out! Louie and Kala are our rescues (Rottweiler Rescue & Rehoming NZ) adopted out to their Dad on separate occasions.
Sadly their Dad has lost his home through no fault of his own…other than being too generous and caring. Sadly ANZ have not helped him at all and as a result his case will be going to the Banking Ombudsman.
Louie and Kala are his babies and while he sorts things out we need to board them in kennels as our efforts to get them into foster care together has failed. As it will be stressful enough for them already we want to keep them together and local so their Dad can visit while he sorts things out.
The funds raised will go to help with kennel fees and food.
Please support this cause...any donation most appreciated.

Louie
Louie is 7 (b May 2011) and a big boy, around 70kg but a gentle giant. He is used to being the only or top dog but does not like other animals like cats. For all his size and strength, he is a bit of a sookie and scared of thunder
His most favourite thing in the world is playing with balls – he loves to play soccer – but he loves squeaky toys as well – and he does play with them, as opposed to chew them up. He knows he is beautiful and will try to work this if you ask him to do something he doesn’t want to do e.g. get off the bed or couch. He knows he isn’t allowed on the bed without an invitation but has always been allowed on the couch on his blanket, preferably with a view of the TV. He loves cuddles and tummy rubs. He loves to ride in the back of the truck with his head out the window on short trips but will crash out for longer rides. He has always been an insidey dog and would expect this in any new or temporary home. Having said that, he has been kenneled a few times and had no problems.
Louie can be quite stubborn and likes to explore so needs a firm consistent hand and a well-fenced property: he’s not a jumper but if he can get his nose under a fence he will do his best to make a Louie-sized gap. He seems to just like exploring and, even though there is stock in paddocks all around has not shown any interest…possums and wabbits are his thing…
Kala
Kala is 4 (b January 2015). Hers has not been a happy story as she was not in a happy home for her first couple of years and is still distrustful of strangers. Certain types tend to trigger this but more socialisation seems to be working. She loves to ride in the back of the truck but will sometimes squeeze out to go looking for Dad.
She was tiny (for a Rottie) when she first arrived, less than 30 kg, but now she is becoming a little fatty as she is faster than the average rabbit (of which we have lots here). She is a absolute sweetie with people that she knows and likes to cuddle up as close as she can. She will fret when Dad is not around and needs an environment when she will have company most of the time.
She is very smart and able to work out rules for herself so long as people are consistent with her. She loves to sleep on Dad’s bed but only with an invitation. She can be a bit rebellious when she doesn’t want to do something, typically come inside when she can smell wabbits.
Louie and Kala are used to living on a lifestyle block with lots of run-around space but more importantly less distractions and stimulations than a townie environment.
Thanks!
For over 6yrs we have been involved in the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of over 200 Rottweilers into loving, experienced, forever homes. We support our adopters and the dogs for life.
Every little helps. Charity: CC53465
Funds raised will help with boarding fees, food and flea and worm treatment. Any money raised over and above what we need will be used to rescue more dogs as the need is ongoing and costs continue to mount up.
Thank you! 16 January 2019
