This gorgeous 9yr old Rottweiler Rangi needs to be brought from Singapore to NZ to be rehomed! He's been waiting a year already!
Auckland
This gorgeous 9yr old Rottweiler Rangi needs our help! We were contacted by SOSD Rescue in Singapore to help rehome this beautiful boy. Initially I said no as we are a NZ based rescue and don't do international. However when I heard his story and that poor Rangi has been waiting a year and no-one would adopt him we had to help.
Here's a bit about Rangi and why he is so hard to rehome!
About the cause:
Rangi started his life as a show dog and when you see him you'll understand why. This gorgeous Rottie is a gentle giant and an absolute sweetheart. His current home is a renowned Singapore dog shelter where Rangi has stolen the hearts of all the volunteers with his gentle demeanor and stunning looks.
Unfortunately, Singapore has specific laws for certain breeds and has made it a lot trickier to get them adopted, and that includes the Rottweiler. New owners in Singapore need to take out special insurance, go for obedience training as well as keep the dog muzzled at all times while out in public. These special conditions as well as the size of Rangi has kept him from finding a new home after his previous owner had to give him up.
A while back Rangi caught the attention of a Singapore expat; a passionate Rottie lover who grew up with these beautiful dogs around her. She instantly felt compelled to do something to get Rangi a normal life, with a family and without enclosures. Even though she was unable to take him herself, she was determined to get him in to the loving family and environment that he deserves.
Seeing the issues in Singapore, she contacted an organization in New Zealand called Rottweiler Rescue & Rehoming New Zealand (RRRNZ) where Rangi would have a great chance to find his new forever-home. The response was very positive and we are now in the process of getting him over to New Zealand to ensure his last years on this planet will be more than an enclosure and very limited human interaction.
This is where we need YOUR HELP!
All in all the expected cost will add up to be around 7000 SGD. That would include air ticket, vet costs, quarantine and all logistics around his travels. We are reaching out to all of you who would find it in your heart to make a donation, big or small, to help our friend Rangi.
If you are unable to help out financially we'd really appreciate if you'd want to share this with friends and family who may have an interest to help out. Anything you can do is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time, your generosity and kindness!

About Rottweiler Rescue & Rehoming New Zealand
I rescued my first Rottweiler at the age of 15 and fell in love with the breed immediately. Being part of The Rottweiler Club and my huge passion for dogs lead me to start my own rescue organisation dedicated to the breed.
I founded the rescue in August 2015 and since then Rottweiler Rescue & Rehoming New Zealand (RRRNZ) has rehomed over 100 dogs.
RRRNZ is IRD registered and became a registered charity in June 2016.
We also have two other trustees on board to ensure nation wide coverage. Vicki and Gina have a lot of experience with the Rottweiler breed and dogs in general and we all want to ensure we find a perfect match for each dog through a thorough and strict adoption process. All dogs are desexed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and registered without exception. Our rigorous follow up process means the dogs are monitored for the rest of their lives to ensure their continued well being and prevent any mistreatment of the dogs.
"Every dog that comes to us is treated like our very own. They only get the very best which is what every dog deserves. Adopting saves lives!" - Tracey Hayes
Rottweiler Rescue & Rehoming New Zealand is comprised of 3 hard working gals. Tracey Vicki & Gina.
We are working hard to bring Rangi to New Zealand where he will be assessed and brought back to us so we can help him find his forever home.
For over 6yrs we have been involved in the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of over 200 Rottweilers into loving, experienced, forever homes. We support our adopters and the dogs for life.
