Hi everyone
My name is Lucca and I have qualified with my dance crew, De Visu to compete at an international hip hop competition that is being held in Glasgow.
I have been dancing for 12 years starting when I was 5, learning Jazz and then developing on to Hip Hop and Contemporary. I am a dancer at the Urban Dance Company and have been member of Urban since 2016.
I am also a dance teacher in Whakatane for a local dance school, Steps Dance. I teach Hip Hop and Contemporary to ages 5-15 and absolutely love my job and all my students.
I am passionate about dance and the opportunity to compete with my crew at an international competition is a dream come true. It is my goal to travel with my crew De Visu and bring home an international title and I need your help to achieve this. I now need to raise funds to cover my flights, accommodation, registration and training fees and your generosity would be greatly appreciated, any donation no matter how small will help.
The Trust seeks to present opportunities to empower youth by using dance as a vehicle for personal development, achievement, hauora (physical, mental, social and spiritual health and well being) work ethics, life lessons, leadership and team skills. Research confirms that youth benefit from being involved in this positive dance scene, which gives them a sense of belonging and identity.
The funds will cover the events costs and registration fees, workshop and classes, flights and accommodation.
