On the 30th April, De Visu Crew took 2nd place at Street Dance New Zealand's National Competition in Auckland, qualifying for the World HipHop International Competition. De Visu will head to Las Vegas in August to compete for the world title and need your help with the final 2k!
Founded and led by Sarah Martin De Visu find their home and leadership at Urban Dance Studio's where they coach crews and teach classes daily. Urban Dance Studios provides a place of belonging, hard work and a lot of fun for many young people. Urban Dance has been holding it down producing dancers in Tauranga for the past 8 years and has developed so many great dancers.
This opportunity is more than a dream for the De Visu members and the students at the studio. They will represent the Bay of Plenty and New Zealand as they compete in August!
The Trust seeks to present opportunities to empower youth by using dance as a vehicle for personal development, achievement, hauora (physical, mental, social and spiritual health and well being) work ethics, life lessons, leadership and team skills. Research confirms that youth benefit from being involved in this positive dance scene, which gives them a sense of belonging and identity.
