We are a totally unfunded bird charity that takes in orphaned, sick & injured birds for care and where possible release back to the wild.
WellingtonHere at Wellington Bird Rehabilitation Trust we provide care for all birds in need, including native and non-native species alike. We treat and care for a wide spectrum of birds a year. Every bird has a story to tell and a life that is worth saving, here we intend to ensure the best possible outcome for all our feathered friends.
We provide treatment, rehabilitation and refuge to over 1000 birds each year. We accept in any bird in any condition ranging from the orphaned, sick and injured to casualties of man-made pollution and toxic spillages.
We routinely collaborate with animal welfare networks, groups and facilities to further our cause and enhance our knowledge and skills with wildlife rehabilitation.
We rely heavily on the support and good will of others as we are totally unfunded and privately run, we graciously accept and utilise public donations to keep our facility in operation. With the support we receive from donors we are able to continue our mission of keeping the birds happy, healthy and free.
Thankyou for your generosity!

Hello Lovely People!! Thanks so much for your support and for your initial care of the birds in your clinic. In 2020 we took in 1260 birds; up from approx 950 birds the previous year so a massive increase in both birds and operational costs so every dollar counts. One area of substantial growth was in Kereru. We took in approx. 2 in 2019 and approx. 80 in 2020. All the best for 2021 and thanks for your support :-) Kind Regards Craig
