Toots, a homeless dog, has suffered an injury to his hip and needs surgery. Could you please help Kawerau SPCA pay for the operation?
Bay of Plenty
Toots (our name) was living rough for several months with an obvious injury. He was scared of people and could not be caught. Kawerau SPCA left food out for him regularly until the day he was eventually secured and taken back to the centre. His hip has been seen by a vet and we have been told the dog needs an operation, estimated to cost $600. We are inviting donations to help pay for the surgery. Toots is an older dog, but has a lot of life left in him yet, and he deserves to be free of pain. Any financial help would be much appreciated.

Funds will be used to pay for hip surgery.
Kawerau SPCA Update on Toots following hip surgery 29 July 2017
Toots is recovering well in foster-care following the operation on his hip. These are the words of his foster-carer: "Toots is the most laid back happy dog despite his weeks all alone outside. He loves to be around other dogs and will do anything to be with them. He is gentle around children and cats (I have 7)....His leg will take 5 -6 weeks to develop scar tissue so he still hops about but this is improving. He loves sleeping by the fire and going for rides in the car. Toots would make an awesome companion he is such a gentleman and will quickly becomes your best mate."
Thank you to everyone who has donated to help this lovely dog get a second chance.
