Please help us to keep our animals safe. We need help to pay for the installation of security cameras.
Bay of Plenty
Animals have been left traumatised following two recent acts of vandalism at our centre. We now have no choice but to fundraise to install security cameras to keep our animals safe when we are not there. On the night of 5 Feb 2016 someone used a gun to shoot at our building, damaging windows, doors and flyscreens. Housed inside the building were animals that could not run away. Puppies and kittens were traumatised by the incident. Thankfully none of them had been directly hit by the bullets but they suffered nevertheless and in a place that is supposed to be a sanctuary for them. A second incident occured just over two weeks later when rocks were thrown at a newly replaced window. Cats and kittens were traumatised again. We want to deter anyone from ever attempting this kind of senseless behaviour ever again. Donations of any amount would be deeply appreciated.

Security Cameras for Kawerau SPCA All Go! 10 March 2016
A huge thank you to everyone who donated towards the installation of security cameras for our centre. We have just finished the process of receiving and reviewing quotes and after thorough consideration of all the offers, we have accepted a quote from Be Alarmed Ltd www.bealarmed.co.nz
We would like to thank Be Alarmed Ltd for giving us an amazing deal for $2,400, including multiple cameras - more than what we are paying for! Thank you so much for your generosity.
We have also been humbled and encouraged by the support of the general public in helping us ensure the safety of our animals, now and in the future. Kawerau SPCA is deeply grateful to each and every person who put their hand in their pocket to help us. Thank you!
We are thrilled and encouraged to receive your generous donation, which will be a huge help in getting security cameras installed at our centre. Please accept our heartfelt gratitude on behalf of our animals and volunteers. Thank you very much.
