Raising funds for food, vet treatment and transport of 180 cows that must find new homes quickly.
Nationwide
A cow sanctuary in the South Island is extremely overwhelmed, and must "destock" immediately. 180 previously rescued cows, steers, yearlings, calves etc must find new homes. The alternative is that they may be put down. External rescue group HUHA is working closely with the animals. Any funds raised here will be used EXCLUSIVELY for the animals feeding, vet care, and eventual transport to new homes. These funds will be kept separate from the sanctuary, and managed with full transparency and accountability. The first priority is to purchase food and baylage to ensure the animals are being fed daily. The second priority is testing and vet care which will start immediately. This will include testing for M Bovis and TB, drenching, neutering of any 'entire' males, and a wide variety of treatments that individual animals may require. Finally, funds will be used for the eventual transport of animals to their new homes.
We provide a refuge for abandoned and abused animals, and either provide a permanent home or rehome. We raise orphaned native birds & rehabilitate injured native birds: We rescue battery hens, nurse them back to health and find lifelong caring homes.
