Mykyta’s Story

Until February 24, 2022, Mykyta's family led a peaceful life in their house in Chernihiv Oblast. During the initial days of the full-scale invasion, a missile hit their home. In that terrifying moment, almost the entire family was in the basement, with only the father upstairs. The house was completely destroyed, and unfortunately, they lost the father. Despite that tragic moment was more than a year ago, Mykyta still deeply mourns the loss of his father.

Currently, Mykyta and his mother live in Chernihiv in their friends' apartment. His mother applied for the "Recovery" subsidy to rebuild their house.

Mykyta is School Year 5. He is a very active boy interested in fashion, football, and is still figuring out exactly what he wants to be. He is eager to learn, constantly curious about everything new, dreams of having his own laptop, and wants to try himself in sports.

Due to your generosity in the course of our initial fundraising https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/hamilton-for-children-of-ukraine, enough money was allocated – and is being paid in quarterly instalments - to support the child up to November 2024. The Hamilton City Council Koha amounts to 1/3 of the allocated funding.

This fundraising is to ensure the support during the next 12 months in 2024-2025 years.

To pay the bills, the funds will be passed to charity Children of Heroes in Ukraine whom we are working closely with.

All money you donate, less 6.3% of third parties' fees, are spent to support the child.
