Help Lloyd vie for a medal in the industrial millwright category at the WorldSkills International Competition in Kazan, Russia in 2019.

Auckland

Lloyd Dyer is an amazing young millwright apprentice and will be representing New Zealand in the Millwright category at the international round of World Skills.

Lloyd says.."All throughout high school I had a huge passion for engineering, winning top of class in both level 1 and level 2 mechanical engineering.

I also retook level 2 mechanical engineering during my last year of high school because there was no level 3 class and I still loved every minute of it.

During my last year of high school I also attended Acme Engineering every Friday through the Gateway program, this ultimately ended in me getting into an apprenticeship.

I have just entered my third year of my apprenticeship and throughly enjoy everyday.

I have a huge passion for the trade inside and outside of work as it ties in well with my hobbies which are racing motorbikes and working on my cars.

I think that I would would be a great candidate to represent New Zealand in this field and would do my very best to make NZ proud!! I would hope to help inspire like minded young people that you can achieve a lot with very little resources if you put your heart into it."

What an inspiration to young Kiwis out there.
