Help Kimberly vie for a medal under the restaurant service skill category at the WorldSkills International Competition in Abu Dhabi.
Canterbury
Hi my name is Kimberley de Schot and I am 20 years old. I am representing NZ in restaurant service at world skills in Melbourne and Abu Dhabi.
I have been working in hospitality for the last 5 years, and love working with others to provide professional and high quality service. I have competed in 3 national competitions, so competing at an international level is going to be an exciting challenge.
I want to go to Abu Dhabi, because it's the highest achievement that I will ever be able to do and to be given the opportunity to show the world my skills and to see what others can do.
I can't wait to represent NZ.
WorldSkills New Zealand is an independent, non-profit Charitable Trust founded in 1986, dedicated to encouraging young people to excel in vocational skills. This is achieved through exposure to competitions at a Regional, National and International level. The purpose of the organisation is to:
• Encourage, recognise and reward skill excellence.
• Raise the standards of skills training in New Zealand.
• Raise the self-confidence and self-esteem of the young participants.
• Have New Zealand recognised as one of the highest skilled nations in the world.
• Promote Skills Training as a first choice career to school leavers.
Funds raised will be used to cover Kimberly's travel and accommodation to the WorldSkills International Competition in Abu Dhabi in October 2017.
