Help welding apprentice Andrew Champion get to Abu Dhabi to represent NZ in the WorldSkills International Competition in October 2017.
Wellington
My name is Andy Champion and I am 19 years old. I live in Dannevirke and I am currently employed at RCR Energy.
I started my engineering apprenticeship in January 2013 at the age of 17 having completed my secondary schooling at Feilding High School.
Since that time, I have sent to complete work at several dairy factories around the country and overseas and have recently come back from New Caledonia for the second time. This year has been a very successful year for me as I have achieved a lot more than I could thought would be possible.
I’ve always dreamed of being able to represent my country in something I love to do. It’s a huge honour to be able to represent my workplace in a top level competition. RCR has been fully supportive of my journey to date and for me personally this is not only an incredible experience but a way to test my skills against other competitors from around the world.
Please help me get to Abu Dhabi to represent our country.
