Help Logan vie for a medal under the installation control category at the WorldSkills International Competition in Abu Dhabi.
Auckland
Hello My names Logan Sanders. I grew up on a small farm in Northland, and attended Rodney College.
I started an electrical apprenticeship with the training company Etco at the start of 2013. I was placed with a Company Dalton Electrical based in Otahuhu, where i served my 3 1/2 year apprenticeship. During this time, I developed a vast array of skills and slowly found myself learning more and more about industrial control.
Earlier this year, I won a national competition run by Master Electricians New Zealand. From this I have been selected to represent New Zealand in industrial control at Worldskills International Competition 2017, which will be held in Abu Dhabi in October.
WorldSkills New Zealand is an independent, non-profit Charitable Trust founded in 1986, dedicated to encouraging young people to excel in vocational skills. This is achieved through exposure to competitions at a Regional, National and International level. The purpose of the organisation is to:
• Encourage, recognise and reward skill excellence.
• Raise the standards of skills training in New Zealand.
• Raise the self-confidence and self-esteem of the young participants.
• Have New Zealand recognised as one of the highest skilled nations in the world.
• Promote Skills Training as a first choice career to school leavers.
Funds raised will be used to pay for Logan's roundtrip fare and accommodation in the WorldSkills international competition in Abu Dhabi, October 2017.
