Support Ryan and Euan in their quest to bring home the Teams Challenge Trophy and help out the WHS Opportunites Project!!!
Canterbury
The Whitehorse Challenge pits a team against an endurance run and bike, alongside some fundraising. This year the Vet Centre are putting in a couple of teams, one from Waimate, and one from Oamaru (so expect a great battle within a battle).
Coming in as definite underdogs, the Waimate crew of Ryan and Euan will be hitting the fundraising hard to buy some precious seconds. Euan takes on the 27km bike leg. Often called the Graeme Obree of his generation (aka The Flying Scotsman) he's almost as swift uphill as down (not sure if that's a good thing yet........).
After a few years helping co-ordinate the Big Easy from Victoria Park, Ryan has been released to do the 18km run. He is hoping that intimate knowledge of the course from the planning, plus a competitive nature will help pull through a competitive time.
They are throwing their 25% support behind the Waimate District Charitable Foundation with their Waimate High School Opportunities Project.
So get donating - every $1 raised over $250 gives a 1 second time advantage to the team, as well as a hand up for our great causes!
The Waimate Rotary Club runs the Whitehorse Challenge, with teams raising funds for local and regional charities, while testing their athletic skills!
This year 75% of funds raised will go towards Sports Waimate, Centrecare Counselling, Waimate School of Music, Waimate Rotary Club, and the Whitehorse MTB Club. 25% of the funds will go to the Waimate Foundation WHS Opportunities Project.
