Winter feed for furry friends in need
All raised funds are going to be used to keep the animals warm, fed and happy all winter long.
WellingtonThe Black Sheep Animal Sanctuary is a safe and sustainable space which rehabilitates and re-homes abused, injured and neglected animals.
We are currently taking care of over 200 animals. All come from different backgrounds of neglect and abuse. The project relies chiefly on volunteer workers.
Can you help us fill hungry animal bellies this winter?
This year hay has been hard to come by with little spring rain followed by a long hot summer. We have managed to buy in just half our hay supply, and desperately need your help to get all the animals through winter in great shape. Right now bales of hay retail for around $15 each, which is $5 more than last year.
This year we are hoping you will help us raise $5,000 to buy hay, straw, grain and feed pellets.
The Black Sheep Animal Sanctuary is mainly funded by the money raised through our Opportunity for Animals op shops in Wellington and Otaki. In winter our sales usually fall, making it difficult to raise the resources needed to get through winter.
We are a registered charity, and all donations are tax deductible.
The sanctuary seek to support both human and animal rights, and opposes all forms of oppression. We are pro-feminist, and anti-racist; we oppose sexism, inequality and environmental destruction. We acknowledge local iwi and local hapū as tāngata whenua. We are a space that is vegan for humans.
Every dollar helps! Thank you for your support. We couldn't do it without you!
