Black Sheep 15th Anniversary Extravaganza! Cheers to 15 years, here's to 15 more!

We founded the Black Sheep Animal Sanctuary in 2009, hoping to make a difference in the lives of farm animals and offer a safe haven for those who have nowhere else to go. Since then, we have rescued and rehabilitated thousands of animals, many of whom lived their lives out happily at the sanctuary or were adopted into loving homes. We currently have about 100 animals who call the Black Sheep their home, and taking care of them is no small feat.

To celebrate how far we’ve come, and to give us some momentum going into our 16th year, we are hoping to raise $15,000! These funds will be used to cover the cost of essential feed and vet bills. These areas make up a huge portion of our regular spending and over the past year we have spent $31,556 on animal feed and $32,161 on veterinary costs.

While we are lucky to have a steady source of funding from our Opportunity for Animals op shops and animal sponsorships, with rising costs we are struggling to stay afloat. This past winter we burnt right through our savings, leaving us with no safety net for unexpected expenses.

Despite this, we are motivated to continue on because the animals need us! And we are so incredibly grateful for all of our achievements over the last 15 years, made possible by our incredible supporters.
