Mammoth Sanctuary Fundraiser - the Black Sheep urgently needs your help!

$31,647 of $30,000 goal
Given by 135 generous donors in 4 weeks

Costs are rising, and the Black Sheep needs a safe power system and essential feed supplies to survive!

Otaki, Wellington

While there are no mammoths at the Black Sheep, we're launching our biggest fundraiser ever to replace our outdated electrical supply with a safe, efficient power system, buy in winter feed, fix our vehicles and help us with increased veterinary care, fuel and other running costs.

This is an emergency situation. The Covid-19 situation has curtailed fundraising efforts over several years, combined with rising costs, delayed maintenance, and an aging power system that urgently needs replacing.

A safe power supply for our barn is essential to save precious animals like Teapot, a tiny orphaned piglet who was discovered sheltering under a bush, covered in parasites and suffering from pneumonia. He is now loved and thriving in the company of his best friend, a piglet named Blue.

$30,000 will fund a safe power supply and essential veterinary supplies, grain, pellets and hay, so that we can continue to rescue needy animals like Teapot. We are working hard to increase our shop income but this takes time.

We realise everyone is stretched - but we have to reach out to survive and continue our work. Please spread the word by sharing this fundraiser through your networks. Every dollar you give has twice the impact, as a kind supporter has agreed to match all donations until the $30,000 is reached.

We reached our target! A mammoth thank you for your help  30 May 2023

We are very excited to share that we have reached our fundraiser target of $30,000! We are blown away by the support and truly appreciate everyone who has helped us get to the finish line, or rather, to the green pastures! Recent years have been difficult for our sanctuary but these donations will allow us to get back on track financially so that we can feed the animals over winter, cover our vet bills, install as safe new power system and complete some essential sanctuary maintenance. There is even a little extra which will go towards preventative veterinary care and general animal care bills. We are so grateful for your thoughtfulness, generosity and compassion and we hope you are having a lovely week. For the moment, we can rest more easily :-)
