Tim and Brett are competing in the Whitehorse Challenge - Running, Biking, AND raising $500 for local, regional, and national charities!
Canterbury
Tim and Brett are completing the Whitehorse Challenge, a teams challenge run as part of the Whitehorse Big Easy event. Teams have the dual challenge of splitting a 25km mountainbike and 18km mountain run with a fundraising challenge. Teams are required to raise $500 via this page, that will be distributed by the Waimate Rotary Club to local, regional, and national causes, including Kidscan, Centrecare, South Canterbury Hospice, Bushtown, and the Whitehorse Mountainbiking Club (for further track maintenance).
After a long period sitting on the fence, Tim and Brett have finally decided to take the plunge and enter a team. Brett, a local stock agent, is described by his friends as a “shit at golf, pool, and darts”, but they did concede he can ride a bike (he likes to ride around lakes i.e Taupo for fun). Training hasn’t been going brilliantly as he thinks he’s done more brewery tours than bike rides in the past couple of months, but we’re sure those historic events will pull him through. Tim on the other hand got glowing endorsements – his father told us “he’s a wonderful boy who would never do anything wrong”….. He’s putting in quite a lot of work up the hill too, and has aspirations to take out the run (he only entered the teams event once he was sure his individual time would count……). So certainly a team to watch!
Jump on board and support Tim and Brett or head on over to www.whitehorsebigeasy.co.nz and enter your own team.
